Job Description-

SPM Scientist/Engineer Instrumentation

Pacific Nanotechnology is searching for an AFM Scientist/Engineer to work in the Irvine, California technology development center. Candidates for this full time position must have direct experience with the design and construction of a scanning probe microscope. Expertise in mechanical design with a CAD program such as AutoCad is essential. Pacific Nanotechnology offer competitive wages and benefits.

Responsibilities: Develop and maintain mechanical system in the Pacific Nanotechnology product line including the Nano-R, NanoDST and NanoI products. Create new designs for advanced system features as well as special products for Pacific Nanotechnology customers.


Requirements:
Ph.D. or equivalent in engineering or the physical sciences; skills/experience in: AFM development, design, construction & operation, instrumentation programming environments (like LabView, C++), AFM controller architecture, precision mechanical instrumentation design, CAD software (like Mechanical Desktop), low-noise measurement electronics, and mathematical modeling of instrumentation.

Job Description-

Western Region Accounts Manager


General Description
: Reporting to Vice President of Sales and Service, Account Manager is required to respond to telephone, e-mail and faxed sales leads, prospect for new sales leads, provide prospective customers with assistance in learning and running Pacific Nanotechnology Atomic Force Microscopes, assist customers with defining the imaging application, close sales, provide regular sales reports and forecasts, and perform other duties, as required from time to time. Account Manager is required to attend several industry related trade shows and SPM seminars, to demonstrate and sell Pacific Nanotechnology Atomic Force Microscopes. Also required is after sales customer follow-up and communication with genuine care for the customers’ needs and requirements.


Technical and Academic Qualifications
: Ideally, the Accounts Manager should have sales experience and be fully familiar with sales processes and concepts. Formal sales training is also an asset, and Senior Accounts Manager must be highly computer literate. Strong communication skills and a desire to learn and achieve are also required. Account Manager must be highly motivated and have good organizational skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responding to sales leads: As sales leads are received by telephone, e-mail, fax, letter, or from trade shows, the Accounts Manager is responsible for gathering and recording relevant prospect information, determining the prospect’s requirements, Coordinating demonstrations and explaining system features and benefits to the prospect and closing sales.
Prospecting: Accounts Manager is required to make cold calls to prospective customers sourced from Pacific Nanotechnology database, or from internet sources, as required, to create additional sales leads, from time to time.

Accounts Manager is required to demonstrate the features and benefits provided by our Atomic Force Microscope products so that prospective customers can become familiar with the ease of use and high performance and understand how they will benefit from purchasing and using Pacific Nanotechnology instruments. Demonstrations can be done at trade shows or at the PNI applications laboratories.

Closing Sales: Accounts Manager must be able to understand and apply the sales techniques required to close sales.

Follow-up: Once a sale is completed, the Accounts Manager must follow-up with customers on a regular basis, and ensures that customers are satisfied with their purchases. Lost sales must also be followed up and information on the reasons for lost sales must be entered in the appropriate database.

Trade Shows: Account Managers are required to attend industry conventions or trade shows, on a regular basis. They must be proficient in demonstrating Pacific Nanotechnology Atomic Force Microscopes effectively and promoting and creating interest in Pacific Nanotechnology products. Coordinating and conducting product seminars is also required monthly.
